History Teacher Thoughts
You need more historical maps to make this worth my while . . . e.g. railroad maps, slave routes, Missouri Compromise etc.
It would also be nice to be able to turn on/off features like rivers, capitals

Thanks for the feedback! We’re working on adding more history maps to the World Atlas and have many more to come over the course of the upcoming year.
Also, if you turn on the Geography browser by clicking the slider in the top left corner, you can click on any country or state and see more information. Under each state, you can click the “Maps” link and see a bunch more historical maps there. They’re all in PDF format and are downloadable. We’ll also be moving many of these to the more “dynamic” layers soon!
